The Canine Needs

Dogs are wonderful pets to keep around the house, yet they require a large amount of attention regarding its physical and social needs.  Regardless of the size and breed, pet owners must remember to give the puppy or dog a clean and comfortable place to sleep in with clean dog food and fresh water nearby.  For proper hygiene, a bath approximately every two weeks and grooming once a week is essential not only for the dog’s appearance but its health as well.  Owners should also take their dogs out for walks (a great way for socializing) and should schedule visits to the vet once in a while for their check-ups.

Kitties require much more in terms of grooming, attitude, and cleaning facilities than that of dogs, fish and mice.  Some of a cat’s necessities are a scratching post for its claws, a litter box for doing its business, cat food, a brush for its fur, and a stock of toys to keep it from getting bored.  Even if cats don’t pay much attention to their owners unlike dogs, they know when it is time to play and cuddle.  Cats are also susceptible to various health problems, so soon-to-be cat owners need to pay close attention to its diet and grooming.  Grooming would entail closer observation on the cat’s body parts such as the ears, eyes, nose, teeth, and fur.

Hamster Galore

From a discovery in the Syrian desert of a family of hamsters seventy years ago, these little critters have been one of the most popular indoor pets commonly seen in households around the world.  A hamster’s basic needs include a home, preferably a wire cage with a solid tray at the bottom big enough for it to move around, a bedding, a nesting box as it requires its own privacy, a pantry for food and water, modes of exercise and good housekeeping.  A hamster’s proper diet is just fresh vegetables everyday.  A few good things to munch on would be avocado, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, cucumber, okra, etc.  Lastly, keep them safely away from susceptible areas as they may be attacked by other animals such as cats or snakes.

Despite their simple lifestyles, these pets require utmost attention and love from their owners.  Dogs are not merely guards for the home or cats, birds, fish and hamsters are for entertainment around the house.  The love and care that these critters need can be provided for in the simplest means, giving them the happiness and comfort to leave them contented.
